New gun control measures for Florida and even other states has been a strong topic, after the Marjory Stoneman Douglas shooting.

Gun control advocates who have awaken because of the shooting looked to a Broward County board on Wednesday to allow residents to vote on the topic of banning assault rifles.

If the board places a referendum and people vote to approve it, the measure would only apply in that county, (Broward).

The charter review board will hold additional public hearings March 14th, at Pembroke Pines City Hall and March 27th, at Coral Springs City Hall, all starting at 6:30 p.m.

“I just want my kids to be safe at school and to feel safe at school,” Fort Lauderdale High School teacher Richard Wooley told the county’s commission.
