Popular online games like Pokemon Go, World of Warcraft or even Grand Theft Auto continue to attract player through new features and always-on virtual interaction,” according to Minor.com.

Erick Marrero is a freshman at SBHS and he is a gameaholic. Marrero spends the majority of his days playing video games. The interest in video games sparked when, Marrero was only five years old. Influenced from his family and others around him. Marrero has spent over $1,000 on video games, and his dad buys him a new game every month.

Overall, he has over 25 games and has five controllers for, four different devices. Fighting, Anime, and Adventure games interest him most. “I spend the whole day playing my games and I only take a break for, about two hours.” Marrero doesn’t only play video games he also plays anime card games. “I collect, trade, and play the card games with people around the school.” Although spending such immense time on electronics can be harmful, Marrero is well aware of the risks, therefore he makes sure he takes a break every time he plays.
