This past spring break, my family took a trip to Portland, Maine. Portland was Maine’s first state capital and it’s located on the Portland peninsula near Maine’s southernmost border. It’s known for their, rocky coastlines, seafood,  and it’s scenery. Portland is the state’s biggest town. We departed for our trip on Tuesday and, we had to take connecting flights to arrive in Maine.

Our flights were form, Fort Lauderdale Airport to, JFK in New York, and to our final destination, Portland International Jetport (PWM). We landed in Portland around, 3:00pm and from there we rented a car and drove to our hotel. Throughout the rest of the day, there wasn’t much snow out; only the ones that had been shoveled out in the morning. Throughout our trip, we ate lots of seafood, sweets, and my parents went to many breweries. Maine is known for their rocky mountains, their forests, and their seafood cuisines; mainly lobster and clams. Before we departed for our trip we looked up tourist spots to visit and we came across a place called, “The Holy Donut.” They sell potato based donuts made fresh daily. Their donuts are homemade and wee made from, the comfort of Leigh Kellis’ home.

Throughout Maine, there were many lobster traps, boats, and places to buy souvenirs. We also, took mini road trip to nearby cities. While we drove around we saw, eagles, foxes, and many other animals. Throughout the rest of our trip, there was lots of snow filled in the streets. Our last night in Portland, we stayed out late to enjoy our last few hours. We spent our last hours out, shopping and eating at our favorite spots.
