Autism Speaks Walk is the world’s largest fundraising event to brighten the lives of people with autism and increase solutions.  The Autism Speaks Walk is powered by the love of family, friends, relatives, and supporters for the special people with autism.

On Sunday, April 29th, Alpha Xi Delta sponsored the Autism Speaks Walk in Miami, Florida. Alpha Xi Delta is one of the oldest women’s fraternal organizations in the United States. The organization has more than 175,000 initiated members and is dedicated to the personal growth of women.

Other companies and groups like Sedano’s and Ford also helped fund the event, by offering free refreshments and food and $5 for every fourth #Ford4Autism hashtag.

Over hundreds of people from the community came out to support this wonderful event.

Activities including the 2-3 mile walk, sensory activities for children like light blue pompoms, a 15 minute opening ceremony, and a refreshment area were offered at the event.

$424,059 out of the $560,000 goal were raised thanks to sponsors, walkers, and teams who came to show support.
