Athena Allen is a 9th grade student here at South Broward High School.

She was placed in this journalism class, Allen wasn’t expecting to take this course. Allen was born and raised in Jamaica and came to the US to live in New Jersey when Allen was 12 and then moved to Florida when she was 13. Her family and friends call her by her nickname Tina.

Allen likes to watch Control Z, and Anne with an E Allen loves to wear Chanel 0.5 and likes vans and converse. Allen likes to go out with her friends, swim and paint on the weekends. Athena loves to travel, she has been to New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Philadelphia, North and South Carolina, and Atlanta Georgia.

Allen mostly stresses about school because of grades and all the work, Allen gets anxiety from large crowds and making direct eye contact. English comes the easiest to her.

“My most embarrassing moment was when she fell out of her desk in class” said Allen. Her friends make her laugh and most people don’t know she loves to cook. Allen looks up to her mom because she said “she has been through a lot and she overcomes everything.”
