Melanie Diaz is currently a junior and has attended South Broward High School since her freshman year. Melanie was born and raised in Miami, Florida although her entire family is from Uruguay in South America.
Diaz enjoys listening to latin artists like Bad Bunny and J Balvin. She is also listens to a variety of genres like hip hop, pop and alternative. Her love for music has helped her use it as a distraction in tough situations or as a way to focus and be relaxed in school.
Melanie believes that the current pandemic has caused a lot of stress, especially relating to school. Canvas was something she had definitely used in the past but not something she was familiar and very knowledgeable in, making the switch rather difficult.
During this new period, Diaz has found more time to try new hobbies, like writing. Her new hobby was one of the reasons she got inspired and decided to start taking journalism.
