YMCA Aquatics and COVID-19

The Greater Hollywood YMCA Aquatics department has made many changes due to COVID-19. Swim lessons still continue, but are limited to classes of four students per one instructor. The amount of people allowed to swim in the pool has also been limited and each person is given a 30 minute time limit. The pool is also closed for three hours everyday in order to sanitize and clean everything on the pool deck.

According to the CDC, COVID-19 has not been found to spread in the water.

The CDC website says there is no evidence that the virus that causes COVID-19 can be spread to people through the water in pools, hot tubs, spas, or water play areas. Proper operation and maintenance (including disinfection with chlorine and bromine) of these facilities should inactivate the virus in the water.
