When SBHS Student Tafari Taylor saw a wallet on the floor in his math class his first thought was not to touch it.

“I didn’t want anyone to think I stole it,” said Taylor.

But, he did pick it up. He was astonished by the amount of money that the wallet contained $479.

He held onto it, questioning whether he should turn it in or keep the money until the end of school.

In the end, he turned the wallet into an administrator.

“Most students would have kept the money, but I’m not most students,” said Taylor.

He said many teachers and students came up to Taylor and praised how his parents raised him and what he did was a great thing.

South Broward High School Principal Patty Brown was amazed by his actions.

“I know countless students and adults who would keep this much money for their own personal needs,” said Brown.

After getting complimented by administrators, Taylor was surprised to hear that he would be receiving an award for his honorable act.

For his act of kindness Principle Brown awarded Taylor with a brand new pair of Apple Airpods.

“After getting my award I felt extremely happy and immediately went to go show my friends,” said Taylor.
