After an exciting cross-county matchup between South Broward and Everglades, the Bulldogs trudged out of the swamp victorious and in control of their own destiny.

In the beginning of the game, South Broward jumped out to an early lead, keeping Everglades under 10 points in the first quarter. Although the Bulldogs posted 18 points in the period, their offensive production slowly faded as the game went on.

Instead, the game was characterized by South Broward’s suffocating defense which held Everglades to only 21 first half points. Going into the second half with a 33-21 lead, the Bulldogs were not able to completely separate from the determined Gators squad who was only outscored by 1 point in the third quarter.

Despite a close third period, South Broward was able to close out the game and win their ninth straight against a formidable county opponent, 54-39.

South Broward improves to 18-3 on the season and look ahead to their regular season finale against Dillard on Thursday, January 27 at 5:00pm. The Bulldogs look to avenge their two losses to the Panthers before entering the District Tournament from February 1-4.
