Private prisons are a large thing in America. About 9% of prisoners are in private prisons.

Throughout time, private prisons have failed to keep its prisoners and guards safe. There have been multiple breakouts, assaults, riots, and some people have even been killed. It’s been proven that private prisons are much more dangerous than regular prisons, yet President Trump wants to create even more.

“Even states that have sworn off private prisons, or tried to cut back on their use, have found it difficult to extricate themselves,” said Timothy Williams and Richard A. Oppel Jr.
