Melody Peyser, 18, is a senior at South Broward High School. Her nickname is Mel, which is what her family and friends call her. Peyser grew up in South Carolina, and misses all her friends back home. “Back home, the best place to be is Huckleberry Hill on the Edisto River;” says Peyser.

Peyser has a dog named Karma who is an albino Pitbull. Her favorite things to do on the weekends are going to the beach, spending time with family and watching Greys Anatomy. “If Meredith isn’t your favorite character then you are doing it wrong,” says Peyser.

She considers herself very artistic and enthusiastic. Peyser took a year of fine arts and was in her school play. She had lots of fun participating in the acting and painting portions with all her friends. Her greatest passion is volleyball, which she played for eight years. Due to her sudden move to Florida she was not able to continue playing. However, she hopes to find a local travel club to participate in.

“I have been playing volleyball since I was 12 and it has impacted my life in the best possible ways,” says Peyser.
