Shaniya Mellerson is an 18-year-old senior here at South Broward High School. She loves to go by Niyah because that's what everyone calls her. She attended Colbert Elementary, then Avant Garde academy, and now attends South Broward. Sunny grew up in Hallandale Beach with her two siblings and mother then moved to Hollywood a year ago.  When asked how you describe herself she says “that girl” she believes being that girl comes with confidence, acting, dressing, and having that mindset. 

Mellerson is a proud Jamaican, she dreams of going to Jamaica on a vacation one day. Mellerson enjoys music too; her favorite artists are Chris Brown, the Weekend, and Harry styles. One of her biggest goals is to go to one of their concerts.

“One thing no one knows about me is I'm a shy person, but people see the extrovert part of me,” said Mellerson.

 She loves music and clothes, one day she hopes to have her own boutique. After graduation, she plans on moving to Texas and going to college there for a change of scenery. She will take on doing nails after her mother and will enter becoming an ob-gyn.
