Javier Cortes, 15, is a SBHS sophomore who took jounalism because he dropped out of JROTC.
He was born in Hollywood, Fl, and moved around a lot while his mom was fighting breast cancer. When he was a baby, he lived in Miami with his dad. But after his mom beat cancer, he moved to Broward to be with her.
His favorite movie is "Scarface" because he's Cuban, and his favorite rap artist is Rod Wave, because he can sing like Diana Ross and rap like Kurupt. He enjoys football, and hopes to play on the Bulldog's football team. He also plays 2k on the ps4.
One of the people Cortes looks up to is former US Navy seal and motivational speaker, David Goggins, because he shows people what they can accomplish and how to defy all the odds.
Cortes' tries to live by Goggin's motto: "It's so easy to be great nowadays because everyone else is weak."
