All I Want For Christmas Is: For Us Not To Take People For Granted

Everyone gets used to having people in their lives. You have your friends, best friends and your family. You see these familiar faces so often that you can’t consider the possibility of something ever happening to them. So, we take them for granted. That bothers SBHS junior Nicole Larrosa. The only thing wants for Christmas and every day of the year is for us not to take people for granted.
“You consider everyone to be invincible. You can’t picture a life without the people close to you because it’s just common knowledge that they will be by your side until you’re both spinning around in wheelchairs,” said Larrosa.
She says taking people for granted is a blind assumption that people all around us need to stop making.
“One lesson I’ve learned from this hectic year is that you should always tell people in your life how you feel about them,” said Larrosa. “Because in the blink of an eye, it will be too late.”
She says people can forget words and memories as time goes on, but people never forget how you make them feel.
“I think it’s very important to hold the people in your life close. I frequently send text messages to all of my best friends and family. It’s expected,” said Larrosa
She says you should never fail to appreciate the people who care for you.
“Just because they’re always in your life to help in some way, never fail to give thanks or recognition,” said Larrosa. “When you realize what is truly important, your wish lists will look completely different.”
