Ashley Gauthier
Even before the pandemic, Ashley Gauthier had to wear a face shield, hair net, mask, and medical gown to work. So, wearing a mask every day wasn’t a big deal to her.
Gauthier is very diligent in wearing her mask, especially at work, where she comes in contact with people every day. But, she’s surprised how many patients aren’t careful.
“Being a scanner at an allergy office, I see so many people entering without masks or who refuse to wear one,” said Gauthier.
She uses a fresh mask every day, the plain blue disposable masks that her work supplies. Wearing a mask has changed how she talks to the people she sees at work.
“I talk with patients every day and sometimes it’s hard for them to understand what I’m saying,” she said.
Gauthier lives in Massachusetts and thinks many of the cities there aren’t ready for the second wave of COVID-19.
“I see us wearing masks at least until 2021 or a bit further,” said Gauthier, “with so many people not following safety precautions, it’s going to take even longer.”
