Carlos Casotto, Neighbor

Carlos Casotto is a 15 year-old sophomore at Avant Garde Academy. He was born in Caracas,Venezuela. Although Venezuela’s flag colors are red, blue and yellow, his favorite color is green. Casotto currently lives with both his parents.

During his free time, Casotto enjoys playing videogames, playing the piano, drawing and making animations. The sophomore sees himself as a professional animator in the future.

“I’m thankful for being in this country (United States of America) because it is way easier to get the resources to pursue my dream, which is to be an animator,” he said.

The future animator’s role model is Bob Ross, the artist, art instructor and PBS television host, because he is the reason he enjoys art. When the sophomore watches him on TV, he feels peaceful, calm and inspired.

Casotto is currently thinking about making a Youtube channel to showcase his early work, and start his career as an animator.

In addition, Casotto is taking film class at his high school. His end of the year project is to do a 5-minute animation. If that animation is good and the principal likes it, she told him that it will be shown to the whole school.

“That’s a lot of pressure for me. But, I like it,” he said.
