Darin Koch

Deep in the halls of South Broward, Coach Darren Koch has been a teacher, student, and member of SBHS community for over 20 years.

His father was a legend at South Broward and they even named the baseball field after him. (Len Koch Field). “So you see, South Broward is in my blood,” Mr.Koch says proudly as he still teaches in the halls of South Broward today. He was coach of baseball, cross country and also the game simulation and design teacher.

He is loved by many of his students, players, and the staff that inhabits South . “My favorite part of South Broward has to be the melting pot of cultures that our school seems to attract,” being apart of the South Broward community for a long time gives him the vast knowledge to make a statement like this one. It shows the diversity that South Broward has seen in 69 years of public schooling.

Throughout the course of the interview, Mr.Koch was asked what is the greatest change he has seen in South Broward, he responded “The technology that the school has gained and also the security that has been more active since the school was rebuilt in 1999,” With new laws and restrictions made for schools since South Broward was open.

Coach Koch is an excellent coach, teacher, and member of the South Broward High School.
