Jeremiah Hickman, Miramar Sophomore

Jeremiah Hickman is a 15-year-old student who attends Miramar High school.

Hickman would love to travel when he is older. Dubai, California and New York are places he would like to see.

In 10 years, Hickman sees himself as a successful business owner, married to a beautiful, talented woman, possibly with children.

“These are my main goals and to make my family proud,” he said.

One of the people Hickman admires is his mom, whom he looks up to because of her strength and ability to be independent.

“When my mom didn’t have much or any help, she always took care of me and raised me. I appreciate all that she’s done for me,” said Hickman.

In his free time, he plays video games or play basketball.

He loves basketball and one of his favorite movies is “Coach Carter,” based on the true story of a Richmond High School basketball coach. His favorite player is Joel Embiid, who also plays for his favorite team, the Philadelphia 76ers.

Hickman’s favorite female actors is Taraji P. Henson, who won best performance by an actress in a television drama last year.

One thing he would change about the world is gun violence. Hickman would like school to be a fun place, where everyone feels safe and can learn.

“It has caused innocent lives to be lost with all these school shootings,” said Hickman.
