Joann Smith, Veterinarian

Joann Smith is a veterinarian at the VCA Aventura Animal Hospital & Resort.

If Smith could change one worldwide issue, it would be to reduce the numbers of animals dying due to being hunted. She feels that hunting animals is unnecessary and cruel.

She enjoys spending quality time at home with her husband and her three dogs. She’s had her puppies from the day they were born, and she is absolutely in love with them.

“I treat these dogs as if they were my own children,” said Smith.      

The veterinarian has a phobia of roaches, because she finds them to be extremely gross and disturbing. A trait Smith would like to change about herself is her hair. She’s always wanted to have natural curls, but sadly her genes prevented her from having them.

After graduating high school, she attended Eastern Florida State in Melbourne, Florida, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Science.

As a side hobbies, she is a volleyball coach for AAU. She’s a real estate agent.
