Johanna Cano, Shipping Company Employee

Johanna Cano is 42-year-old women working in logistics, a shipping company, where they ship all types of cargo to small islands in the Caribbean. She has a passion the arts; mainly photography and filmmaking.

”If I could be anyone else for a day, I’d like to be a famous film producer or director. I’d like to be able to just create without any restrictions just once and see what kind of project I’d come up with,” she said, “It’s how I feel I can best express myself through creativity.”

Cano biggest fear is being a failure.

”[I fear] failure, but I think we all fear that at some point, no matter how old you are. I hope that my family continues to stay healthy and united. My dream is to direct a feature film in the next few years,” said Cano.

She likes all sorts of music including  jazz, country and rock and roll.

“I think music is one of the greatest expressions. One of my favorite quotes states ‘when words fail, music speaks’. I’m not a fan of reggaeton or bachata, but mostly ’cause I think it all sounds the same and has no real creativity. I’m also not a real big fan of hip hop. Mostly because I feel most of what’s being out today is negative and not at all impactful.”
