Joshua Torres, SBHS Senior
Like most people, 18-year old Joshua Torres was affected by the pandemic. He lost a lot of his social life and after a while felt like he was losing himself, it made it hard to cope with the issues around him.
“Covid took a toll on my mental health. Going from seeing my friends every day to being at home 24/7 really affected me,” says Torres.
The social distancing didn’t help his predicament either, this caused him to feel a disconnect with society.
“I had to become accustomed to a whole different lifestyle than I was already used to,” says Torres.
Not only did it affect his mental health, but it also affected his performance in school.
“I went from a student with good grades before the pandemic to a student that was barely able to maintain their grade, “ He said.
Now that school is in-person his life is able to somewhat go back to normal. He’s doing much better in school and his mental health has improved greatly ever since.
