Lizbet Guzman
Lizbet Guzman is a bookkeeper for a textile company. She is originally from Isabela, Puerto Rico, but moved to Florida in her early 20’s to start a better life. Guzman wears her mask diligently because of her job.
“I do wear a mask. I wear it when I am in public places, like my job and the store,” she said, “I wear the mask to protect myself and protect others.”
Most of Guzman’s friends and family wear masks to protect themselves from COVID-19.
“I really don’t know how long we will have to wear masks for, but I do know that it will be for a long time,” she said, “COVID is a very serious and deadly virus, we have to protect ourselves, even when it seems like things are getting better.”
With all the time that Guzman has had to wear masks, it made her about her mask fashion before going out.
“Personally, my favorite mask is this pretty pink and white mask,” she said, “I originally got it from Target, and I’ve been a huge fan of it since.”
She finds it hard to interact with people when wearing a mask. She also finds social distancing challenging as well.
“It’s been really, really hard to interact with people now that masks are required,” said Guzman, “we now have to make more eye contact, and you can’t always hear the person because the masks muffles your voice. Of course, you also have to stay socially distanced which is another problem when it comes to trying to interact with people.”
