Mama Hollis

Mrs. Therese Hollis, formally known as Ms. Mcleary, is a popular teacher at SBHS, who teaches environmental science and biology.

A true natural lover, she feels deeply touched by her environmental science students.

“I wish I could change what makes people do angry things such as steal or kill,” said Hollis

She enjoys her students.

“Every year I meet some of the most talented hard working kids in Broward County and I am proud the be their teacher,” said Hollis.

Every year Mrs.Hollis fully endeavors the science journey with her students through hands on projects, activities, lessons and more.

“I love my students and my students love me because once they walk through the doors of my classroom, we are a family,” said Hollis

Most of her students refer to her as “Mama Hollis”

“This is my first year at South Broward and I can really say before entering Mrs.Hollis’s classroom I never thought I would find a teacher willing to sit down and breakdown the lessons,” said Antwon Singh.

Hollis supports the school in anyway she can as she contributes to school fundraisers by selling all types of snacks such as donuts, chips and candy.

“I want to change the number of students I impact. I want to be able to reach as many young mind as I possibly can,” said Hollis.
