Marcus Wilson

Marcus Wilson is a 15 year-old student athlete from Hollywood Florida. He plays for South Broward High’s varsity football team and track team. Ever since he was young, he has always had a passion for playing sports. He started playing football because he had a love for the sport and it came naturally to him. He began to run track because his track coach influenced him, so Wilson decided to try it out and ended up really liking it.

In his free time, his hobbies are playing video games such as Madden and Call of Duty. He also likes  drawing.  Wilson often listens to music as an escape from his hectic schedule. His favorite artist is rapper Gunna because he is different from other rappers.

”He doesn’t mumble when he’s rapping,” said Wilson.

As a teenager, he hopes to improve on his work ethic because he wants to get better at football, but doesn’t always have the energy to practice a lot. Wilson finds it difficult to run for long periods of time in both football and track, so he wants to improve on his stamina.

”I really want to  work on my work ethic to push me to the next level,” said Wilson.

Wilson looks up to motivational speaker and athlete Inky Johnson and hopes to be like him when he gets older.Wilson feels like he can relate to his struggles of him being an athlete which inspires Wilson to do better everyday at his sport. He hopes to meet him one day.

”He’s a very smart guy and I can relate to him,” said Wilson.

Going against other teams is a difficult for Wilson, because he gets really nervous. He finds it hard to deal with the pressure of  trying to be the best, but he tries not to let it affect the way he plays. His motto: hard work pays off.
