Mark Kramer, Record Producer

Mark Kramer works in the music industry as record producer. He started his career as a musician in a band, touring around the country and the world.  He would travel for hours on a bus from New York to Cleveland just to perform for a show briefly and to travel to another show. But as his career progressed, he began to stop enjoying the band life.

“Felt like if I stayed [in this band] for another year, my life would end,”said Kramer.

So, he borrowed money from a uncle and formed a recording studio in New York City on 34th Street right across from Madison Square Garden. He worked hard for a few years enough to upgrade his studio and reached a pinnacle in his musical career producing over 80 songs that reached the top of the college radio charts.

But  the music industry changed, with streaming taking over record producing, and the worked slowed way down.  However, he still receives many requests from clients, from Paris to Dublin to Canada, for record producing.  So, he dabbles in a little still, preferring to fish now a days.

The main driving force of his life? Love.

“People struggle in search of it and struggle to keep it once they find it. People need love like they need food like they need water or shelter. We all need love,” said Kramer, “Knowing that I am loved, knowing that my wife loves me, that my daughter loves me. [That’s my greatest joy].”
