Miguel Velasquez

“I was with this girl back in Venezuela, madly in love with her. She made me feel so good about myself, but things weren’t like that for her. I told her I was moving here, and we started our long-distance relationship. The distance made me love her even more, if that makes sense. But a few months in, I knew the feeling wasn’t reciprocated. She ended up cheating on me and on top of that, she never told me. Some friends in common told me about it, and I decided to wait it out and maybe give her the chance to tell me. Easy to say. That didn’t happen. My first reaction was to forget about it all. Few nights later, I went out seeking a distraction, something that could change my constant dazed state. It was hard. I had never felt something like that before. Although it took some time, way more than her I can imagine, I healed and moved on. No me arrepiento de nada porque la vida sigue.”
