Mr. Gregory Pluim

Mr. Gregory Pluim is a 53-year-old man with a history of working at elementary, middle, high school, and college, and he is South Broward’s new 10th grade assistant principal. He lives in Parkland, and used to work at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, though his previous assistant principal job was at Cooper City High School. Even though he has been teaching for over 30 years, he is currently learning French and Spanish to better relate to students.

“I believe no one is ever done learning and I want to support students that aren’t given the same opportunities.” said Pluim

Pluim studied at the University of Miami and Florida Atlantic University, where he majored in biology and education, with a minor in English literature. He believes that his best asset is being perseverant, and never looking back.

“I want to be helpful. I would like people to see me as someone who they can go to for support. Because my job really is to support, and that’s why I love it.” said Pluim.

In his free time, the new AP enjoys the outdoors and exercise, such as going to SBHS football games and fishing with his kids. Although he has no pets, Pluim aspires to rescue a dog from the local shelter.

Although it is his first year at South Broward High School, Pluim has been accepted with open arms.

“I want to help SBHS grow and show not only the student body, but also all faculty and staff the same support I received in my welcome,” said the new AP.
