Mrs. Patricia Ann Brown
For the last seven years, South Broward High School was governed by Mrs. Olayemi Awofadeju, but suddenly, there’s a new sheriff in town. Mrs. Patricia Ann Brown and she is determined to focus on security, academics, and the brand new 15 million dollar iCAN grant.
Mrs. Brown was previously assistant principal at Coral Springs High School and Indian Ridge Middle School, until last year when she became South Broward’s interim principal while Mrs. Awofadeju was doing training.
Now, Mrs. Brown is in charge, despite controversy surrounding the Climate Strike and the Growl, it seems South Broward is thriving under Brown’s rule. Most students and staff seem to genuinely love her approach to running the school.
“She’s more out there and approachable than Mrs. A was, I’m glad to see her here,” says senior Brianna Ortega.
Mrs. Brown is experienced at being a part of an administration and despite the school’s current grade, she has high hopes for South Broward’s future.
“I want South Broward to be a school that everyone wants to attend,” said the new principal “I want us to not only feel like an A school but to be an A school.”
