Sharon Koehn

Sharon Koehn is a 27-year-old woman who was born in Ocala FL and now lives in Ft. McCoy. Koehn is a veterinary technician at UF small animal (?) hospital and works in the progressive care ward.

She takes care of animals that are going into and out of surgery, as well as cancer patients that are getting radiation care. The reason she wanted this job because of her love for animals.

“My teacher used to say do it with purpose and don’t hesitate or you could get hurt I will never forget that,” said Koehn. The weirdest animal she has taken care of is between a rat and a ferret.

Her greatest fear is losing her family. She is the youngest of five. Her heritage is German, French, and Native American.  Koehn’s greatest strength is her empathy and her greatest weakness is procrastination. The toughest thing she has been through is a car accident at 16, she was put on life support.
