Sofia Rodriguez

Sofia Rodriguez has a typical type of job for a college student. She’s a cashier at Bien Chido, a Mexican restaurant in Plantation. Something else that’s typical since March is wearing a mask to do her job safely.

The restaurant provides her with masks on her job, but she uses the reusable masks to go out.

“I use a reusable mask because it is convenient and safer for me,”said Rodriguez.

The Plantation resident is very diligent with her mask, using it every day at her job and when she goes out to places, which amounts to approximately 36 hours a week.

“I only take the mask off to eat at my job and when I am eating in other places,” said Rodriguez.

She uses the masks because it is mandatory on her job, and she also wants to be protected.

“If it wasn’t for my mask and for the prevention I am taking right now I would not feel safe,”said Rodriguez

Her family and her friends also use their masks to go to work and to go to public places.

“My family and friends believe in Covid-19. Therefore we do everything we can to remain safe and healthy.”

She sees us wearing masks until the middle of next year.

“Wearing a mask has changed the way I interact with people because my social life is interrupted by the virus and I am not able to see my friends, it’s not only me, it’s all the people around the world that are going through this,” said Rodriguez.
