Vladimir Aponto, Boat Upholsterer

“The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.” This quote represents Vladimir Aponto’s life style.

Aponto considers himself a workaholic and many would agree on that statement.

Vladimir Aponto, 58, works in the boat industry, specifically he oversees boat upholstery. Aponto was born on October 4, 1962 and originates from La Paz, Bolivia where he encountered his future wife, Mayn. B

oth of them ended up moving to the U.S. twenty years ago, where they would start a new life together and give birth to two wonderful daughters.

With many years to come, both daughters would develop a love for professional swimming like their father. However, Aponto loves every sport individually.

“I like all sports  individually because they form character and discipline in people,” Aponto says.

“My dream is to go to the Olympics one day to see all the sports involved,” he says. 

In the far future, Aponto plans on visiting some friends from Tokyo ever since he missed the Olympics. He also plans on visiting a friend from Germany that used to be his athletics coach. Finally, he would like to bring all of his family from Bolivia to the U.S. for his mother’s seventy-fifth birthday.
