All I Want for Christmas Is: Family Joy

Thirteen year old Lupe Gil’s Christmas list contains things that any typical teenager would want: AirPods, new shoes, and room decor.  One thing her parents didn’t know she was gonna ask for? Family joy.

“Recently my household has been so quiet and gloomy, I just want to change that,” said Gil.

Gil and her family have recently lost somebody and have been grieving. She’s realizing that this loss is hitting her family really hard.

“I’ve never seen my family this upset,” said Gil. “It kills me to see that they feel this way and I can’t do anything about it.”

The person was really important to all of them. The news of the death was devastating. She’s hoping that a Christmas miracle comes and makes her family happy and joyful this season.

“It’s been a hard year and just for once I think it’s time we all get the happiness we deserve,” she said.
