SBHS Junior Patricia Houslin 

SBHS junior Patricia Houslin is very happy about the guilty verdict but she does not think that Chauvin’s will serve up to 40 years.

“I feel like they will only have him serving about half of that, because white privilege is very evident in today’s judicial system,” said Houslin.

While this may have seem like a win for the black community and their allies, Houslin says that the fight is not over.

“Yes, this was a slight victory but we can not get lazy, from here BLM just fights harder our killers will no longer walk freely.”

“We will get justice, long overdo justice and we will not rest till all of our fallen sisters and brothers’ names are said.”
