A Beneficial Beginning

Do you think being a freshman is boring and lame? No, it’s not, even though they’re the youngest group in the school, they have more opportunities and more time to make things right.

Most of the students interviewed said that their year is going fantastic so far. This is because they’ve met many different people and claimed they have a lot of freedom here compared to their old school. There’s many fun things here in this school including the variety of extracurricular activities and sports available. Some clubs available are the ebony club, drama club, ROTC, etc….

Before, classes were 50 minutes long and now they’re 1 hour and 30 minutes long which allows students to take in more information and learn more.

Here’s what some freshmen said about how their year is going:

Interviewer: So, how do you like it here at South Broward so far?

Interviewee: My year has been going great so far, I really like how the school functions and the treat we get is amazing.

Interviewer: Is it hard being a freshmen?

Interviewee: No, actually there’s a lot to learn but my first year is going good, I’ve made many new friends, and I’m adapting well to this environment.

Interviewer: Well, thank you for sharing your experiences here so far!

Freshmen stated that the classes they chose, for the most part are the ones they got. They got classes like marine magnet program and Journalism which is something completely new and exciting for them.hey say the kids and staff here are very friendly.

Most of them said that they chose this school that they weren’t forced, and they don’t regret it. Compared to other high schools, this school provides so much opportunities, especially for freshmen who are just starting a new stage in their life. They feel free and are just maturing so this is an amazing experience for them.
