All I Want for Christmas is: Fairness

Janette Sanders loves Christmas because she is with her family and because of gifts. One thing she would like to have? Fairness. 

“I want the Fairness Doctrine back due to biased social media,” said Sanders.

She says social media impacts people negatively and positively, but it’s still out there for very gullible people. She thinks The Fairness Doctrine concludes that articles or information have both sides with factual evidence.

“Even if you’re against it you still need to write why it’s also for. Websites and news use fake information and use manipulative media tactics for profit. That is not okay, even if the accurate information is dull or boring it’s especially better for younger children,” said Sanders. 

She says it would help because social media impacts for people around the world. She wants everyone to have this so they won’t be terrified or worried about fake news or even news about social media influencers.

 “This also helps with political information. In order to restore the Fairness Doctrine Act would conclude a bill to be passed in the court of law.  In order for the bill to be passed it needs to be drafted. Considering this bill was from the 1940’s – 1980’s. ” said Sanders. 

She thinks our government should take it up as a law. 

“This will happen once it comes around. I can’t necessarily decide on that,” said Janette.
