Diego Cruz Ayala is a 14-year old freshman at South Broward High School. Cruz was born in Hollywood, Florida. He prefers to go by the name “Ghost”. He is taking journalism because he wants to improve his writing skills, and experience new things in this class as well.
Cruz enjoys track and would love to be one of the fastest runners in the world. He has been doing track since he was ten and began track at Hollywood Central Elementary. Ever since he began he has loved the sport. Cruz has done Hollywood Runs for Haiti his first year and got 3rd place. In his second year, he placed 1st. He was really proud of himself.
"Never give up on something that you love and keep trying and never let your guard down,” said Cruz. “My dream is to be the fastest runner."
