Bulldogs Take an L From Flying L’s in Varsity Baseball Game
South Broward loses to Fort Lauderdale in ball game, 4-1

In an intense fall baseball varsity game, Fort Lauderdale High School’s Flying L’s defeated the South Broward Bulldogs to a score of 4-1. It was a tough loss on the opposing team’s home turf. On the Fort Lauderdale’s baseball field the South Broward Bulldogs and the Flying L’s were getting ready for the intense battle.
“We may have a lot of younger players, but they’ve been working hard and doing different fundamentals,” says the varsity baseball coach, Charlie Cardinae.
The South Broward Bulldogs are feeling confident this year. The team players also look up to the team captain, Makai Simons. Simons has been playing for the Bulldogs for four years.
“The team is young but promising,” said Alonzo Simons, the father of Makai Simons. “My son is taking on my legacy,” says Alonzo.
Alonzo played for the Bulldogs baseball team back in in 1997. He made a home-run on Fort Lauderdale and many other teams back in 1997.
“My dad was an amazing player with a lot of courage,” said Makai.
Simons feels really comfortable about the team this year, and thinks that they will grow to be better players. As the the game was starting, the Bulldogs were batting, with the Flying L’s as the defense. Both teams were going strong as it was the top of the third inning, with the score being 0-0. The huge crowd of people on the bleachers started to roar when the Bulldogs scored the first run at the end of the third inning.
It was now 1-0, with the Bulldogs feeling confident. The game was getting intense. The crowd was on the edge of their seats because the Flying L’s scored their first run. The crowd started to to roar and scream as the score was tied. The Bulldogs started to feel defeated when The Flying L’s scored their second point, but that didn’t stop them. The Bulldogs stayed strong and worked hard during the game. The crowd was roaring and stomping their feet when the Flying L’s scored the last two points. The Bulldogs were defeated by a score of 4-1. Even though The Bulldogs lost, The Bulldogs are still really confident about this year’s team and the rest of the season.
“It’s one game at a time,” said Cardinae, “Sometimes getting defeated helps them learn.”
Cardinae and team are prepared for more fundamentals and drills.
“This won’t be the last game we lose or win,” says Cardinae and the Bulldog varsity team.
The players said that they “will get better better and win more games.”
The Bulldogs may have got defeated in this game, but they will work hard and practice more.
