Chemical Attacks In Syria
May 15, 2018
Over the last couple of years chemical attacks in Syria caused by the Assad regime have killed over a thousand-innocent people. On April 7th, an attack in the Syrian city of Douma left at least 75 people dead and 500 with serious injuries. The Syrian people have been living in fear.
On April 14th, the United states along with England and France came together and launched numerous airstrikes on different locations. These locations consisted of chemical weapons that were being stored and developed.
“Last night, operations were very successful”, said Senator Dana White. “We met our objectives. We hit the sites, the heart of the chem-weapons program.”
As Americans we cannot imagine the pain that the victims have been through that was caused by their own people. The victims were gasping for air, witnessing their family members suffer knowing there was nothing they could do to help. After the United States along with two other nations completed the mission, our goals have not been accomplished yet. We have to keep working on developing ways to help these countries thrive and keep them functioning. With no decision made on the 14th of April, chemical attacks could still be happening. I believe we should stop the Assad regime from continuing.
The regime has killed too many innocent people, it is time for a change. Many nations are working together to make this possible along with the rebels fighting against the regime. With the help of the rebels they can inform the U.S along with other nations to share location points that are populated with terrorist groups. As this keeps happening the rebels will soon take control and the regime will end.
