Chloe Kim Takes Gold Medal
March 8, 2018
American teenager Chloe Kim blew away the rest of the field to win the women’s snowboard half pipe gold medal at Pyeongchang’s Phoenix Snow Park on 12 February, with a near-perfect score of 98.25 on her last run.
At the age of only 17 she has won two gold medals at the Youth Olympic Games in Lillehammer 2016 now adding another after her last achievement. Although victory was pretty much confirmed for Kim she refused to go home without doing her absolute best to make herself proud achieving back-to-back 1080s while being awarded 98.25 points out of a possible 100 and beat Liu another top snowboarder by almost 10 points.
Although her bubbly personality and genuine smile may lead you to believe she’s just another “normal” SoCal teenager, Kim is a fierce competitor who has worked very hard to get to the front of the pack. Her hard work has been proved to be paying off throughout her years of training and is now succeeding even more at making her way to the top.
