Daniel Cuvet

Daniel Cuvet is a freshman at Saint Thomas Aquinas High School who has big dreams for his future baseball career. From the time Cuvet was little, he loved the excitement of baseball. He began playing tee-ball at just three years old.

Cuvet has won many MVP awards throughout his time playing baseball. But his biggest accomplishment came this past November: a baseball scholarship to the University of Miami for baseball at just 14-years-old.

“The commitment is a huge accomplishment and a big step forward to my dream,” said Cuvet.

Cuvet owes his success to his family for encouraging him and teaching him all he knows about the sport. He has two siblings: an older brother and a younger sister. He has been inspired and taught by his older brother and wants to be an important role model for his younger sister. He wants to teach her how to complete everything to her best ability.

“I am thankful for the sacrifices my family made for my dreams, and one day hopes to repay them,” said Cuvet.

His biggest role model is Mike Trout, a three-time American League MVP and a seven-time winner of the Silver Slugger Award.  Cuvet is inspired by how he uses his fame to help out his community

“Mike Trout worked hard for where he is and is grateful for everything he has,” said Cuvet. “I hope to be just like him.”

Since he has become more focused on baseball, he spends nearly every day practicing for his future baseball career. His life has changed quite substantially.

“I miss the flexibility of hanging out with friends and traveling, I almost feel left because my life is constantly focused on baseball,”said Cuvet. “I know great things will come, so I think it’s all worth it.”

In 2023, Cuvet will attend the University Miami on a baseball commitment scholarship and then hopes to move on to play in the major leagues.

“I wake up every day and see everything I’m blessed with and all the sacrifices the people around me made for me. It drives me to do the very best and make the most of my life,” said Cuvet.
