Being in high school, most of us can say we’ve had our”first loves” already,and our first heart breaks. But has anyone ever stopped and wondered, who were our favorite teachers first loves? On this valentines day, instead of asking kids around school about their current relationships, i went around and asked my teachers about their first ones.

Ms. Curr:

While discussing with Ms. Curr about her first love, she gave an inside look on who he was, and what exactly went down. She began the story with “His name was Nick Cristy”. Shortly after she started to talk about how they met at a local supermarket that they both worked at, and immediately hit it off. Soon after they started going out on dates, and very quickly started dating each other. Their relationship lasted a total of 6 years, and only ended after a heated fight between the two, that pushed him to end the relationship. “I got back home to our apartment from a Christmas party that night, only to find a written letter from him on the bed, and all his stuff gone”. Immediately i started to feel for her, until she began to explain the sense of relief she felt from his absence. She explained how they had a very toxic relationship. Throughout the whole duration of their relationship he cheated on her, and she always forgave him. After it ended she realized how stupid and blindly in love she was in, but despite everything still considers it real love. “I regret 5 out of the 6 years we were together, i regret always taking him back, and being so forgiving”. She added that after it was over, she used the depression she had to empower herself to get her life back together. She traveled a lot with her friends, started going to the gym and lost weight, relieved the missed youth she had, and really found herself. The only memories that she ever reminisces of was their trip to Italy together, and the countless of concerts they went too (destiny’s child, rick de juvis). Tattoos also remind her of him because they got some together. Ms. Curr also mentioned how they did speak a couple times after it ended, but that she never got back with him. She was single for a total of 4 years, before she found love again. Luckily for her, this one was everlasting, and ended up becoming her husband. After her marriage he did try to reach out to her and congratulate her, but she didn’t entertain it. Nick also is still currently with one of the girls who he cheated on her with, and has 2 kids.

Mr.Herrera:

“Kate. Kate was her name” Said Mr.Herrera. Reluctant to open up about her at first, he started off by saying that they both met because they had mutual friends. Their relationship lasted a total of 3 years, starting in senior year and ending during college, because the distance was too much; both being in different states, in different colleges really took a huge toll in their relationship. Him being in New York, and her being in Florida, one day she decided she couldn’t do it anymore, and ended it. “Even though she was my first love, i do think it was just a high school puppy love. I feel like i didn’t even know her, we never saw each other” he stated. He regrets dragging the relationship on for so long, and wishes they ended sooner. When she broke up with him he felt a sense of relief as well. He felt like he was finally letting go of the past, and starting a new chapter in his life. To this day they’re still facebook friends, but have had no communication. She was really close with his family though, so his mom still messages her from time to time, to she how she is.After that Mr. Hererra found his true love, which is his wife today and couldn’t be happier.He also has no pictures, or good memories with her, besides traveling around through Florida together.
