George H.W Bush Death
December 17, 2018
George H.W. Bush, the 41st President of the United States, spoke his final words in a phone call with his son and died late Friday at the age of 94. He was found by his son at his home in Houston. His death was announced in a tweet by Jim McGrath, his spokesman.
Bush was the second President in U.S. history to witness his own son follow in his presidential footsteps when, in 2000, George W. Bush was elected. The late President was in office from 1989 to 1993. Although Mr. Bush Sr. served as president nearly three decades ago, his values and ethics are still set high. He has made a impact, even without being president in this current political atmosphere.
Before his death, he had some health set-backs. In 2012, bush announced that he had Vascular Parkinsonism, a condition that impacted his mobility, like to walk and move. In 2014, he was hospitalized for shortness of breath. In 2015, he fell at his summer home and broke a bone.
Bush’s death comes just after his wife of 73 years, Barbara Bush, passed away on April 17 at age 92. His daughter Robin died of leukemia as a child, a tragedy that still moved Bush deeply in his later years. He will be buried next to his daughter and his wife. He and his wife, Barbara Bush, were married for 73 years before she died. Bush will lie before a memorial service at the National Cathedral in Washington, DC, with a second memorial service to follow at St. Martin’s Episcopal Church in Houston.
Bush’s life made a big impact in the lives of Americans and they loved him even after his Presidency. He was a great man who made the U.S. a stronger nation.
