Hospital visit-or-Treat
November 16, 2017
“Let me check your candy for poison,” is a common joke we’ve all heard from our parents after trick-or-treating. We sometimes seem to forget that this joke is a reality. Halloween is a fun holiday we all enjoy, but it can come with many dangers. You may want to think twice about eating strange candy or trick-or treating all by yourself.
Many children and teens are oblivious to what kind of candy they’re getting on Halloween. The only thought on their minds is to collect all the candy they can. This is why it’s easy for them to be given harmful types of candy. One example of this is a case that involves a woman who gave teens dog biscuits, steel-wool pads, and ant poison!
Another reason Halloween could be dangerous is the possibility of being kidnapped. Halloween night can leave neighborhoods crowded with kids who are all running around looking for candy. It’s so easy for you to get separated from a friend or parent. In 2013 an 11- year old boy was kidnapped at knife point while he was walking home from trick- or- treating.
Hopefully this article helped and encouraged safe trick-or-treating. Just because it’s a fun holiday doesn’t mean it can’t be dangerous. So check your candy and be alert. You never know what can be lurking around on the scariest night of the year.
