How Gun Violence Can Be Prevented
November 28, 2017
How many families have been negatively affected due to gun violence? Families all across the world are losing loved ones because of it. Injuries and deaths caused by guns are increasing rapidly due to the amount of people who have access to these guns who intend to cause harm to another person or a group of people. On June 22,2017 Kim Parker and her team conducted a survey to see who owns a weapon or plans to own one in the future. 30% said they currently own a gun and 70% said they do not own a weapon.
After the deadly shooting in Las Vegas, congress members debated on whether more gun laws should be added. One side said we need guns for protection and defended the second amendment which allows people to keep and bear arms.
The opposing side said restrictions should be put in place to prevent the guns from ending up in the wrong hands.
I say restrictions should be put in place to protect the lives of citizens and their families so another mass shooting can be prevented.
This can be prevented by conducting background checks on people who plan to buy guns to be certain that person doesn’t have a dangerous past and or background.

stricter gun laws aren’t going to stop mass shootings, they might decrease the amount of them (not significatly mind you), you can’t stop people from getting guns, there is always illegal places who sell them, you can buy them on the internet, or in the very city you live in. background checks can help prevent mass shootings, but people who intend to use them for harmful reasons might not have a dangerous past or background. you can’t stop these things from happening, it’s better to let people defend themselves with guns of their own so the citizens and the government can cooperate with each other to prevent mass shootings.

I personally agree with the fact that teens spend a lot of time on social media and need to focus more on school work and focus their time on things that will actually help them succeed for the future.

People who have guns should have a back ground check before they get a gun cause it can cause problems

I feel as if statistics and factual information on families affected would make the point of the article way more hard hitting.

I feel as if it’s pointless to set up harsher regulations because once someone owns a gun, there is NOTHING stopping them from giving it to someone, someone stealing it, or the person from using it to kill innocent people. You can never fully understand a person’s motives; even if you set up harsher requirements, people will still slip through the cracks. So unless people give up their guns entirely (which will never happen), gun violence will always be a problem.

To be honest there is no way to stop gun violence because if people wanted a gun they will always find a way to by pass the restrictions to get one for example they could have a family member with a good background get them one.

I believe that gun control should be a thing so that people who are bad can’t have guns and kill people
