Jimson Joseph

“My mom says I basically live outside.”

Jimson Joseph is a sophomore who spends most of his time playing tuba in the South Broward band. His journey to band started with a band director telling him he showed potential before even picking up an instrument. He’s been playing tuba for a year now and feels like the band is part of his family.

When he’s not in band, you’ll catch him in the HOSEA program, going after his dream of becoming a neurosurgeon. He hopes to eventually get into the University of Miami’s medical program.

You could describe him as a outdoors man, constantly outside playing basketball or helping out with his church- he even spent most his summer at a mission trip in South Carolina. He’s a die hard Miami Heat fan, so if you ever want to find him, look out for Heat merch as he’s constantly repping his team.

Most of his family lives far away in Haiti- including 7 other siblings- but he loves all of them tremendously.

“I haven’t even met some of them,” says Joseph with a smile on his face, but he says he definitely plans to whenever he goes down to visit.
