Latinos in Multicultural Action
March 2, 2018
Lets begin with the distinction between Latinos in Action and Multicultural Club. The objective for Latinos in Action, a class, is to help students who require assistance in the barrier between the languages, whether it’s Spanish or English. The Latinos in Action class accepts any nationality. But since the aim is to help members with the English language, they are mostly composed of Latinos.
The objective for the Multicultural club is to inspire global education and a better understanding of the cultures. It helps every student in developing knowledge and how to survive in a diverse society.
Otto Rodriguez is the sponsor of both, Latinos in Action and the Multicultural Club; he also receives help from students appointed to a leadership position.
Dariel Díaz is the organizer of the Latinos in Action class, and wanted to join the Multicultural Club in order to try something different. Díaz also signed up so it could help him speak in front of a public. “The club, well, it helped me speak in public,” said Díaz.
Another leader is Frankie Mejía, the Secretary of the club, the one who makes sure that everything is according to plan. He joined because he wanted to help little kids in need, but also, because helping the kids helped him. “ I believe the most important things are the small things,” said Mejía.
“Everybody is welcomed to the club,” said Mr. Rodriguez “, so sign up if you want to make a cultural difference!”
