Micaela Aponte is a junior and soccer player at South Broward High School. She was born June 20, 2002 in Hollywood, Florida.

Aponte comes from a long line of fraternal twins. She herself is a twin. Her mother is a twin. And, her grandmother had two sisters that are twins.

“Every time I mention or someone hears I have a twin their jaw drops and their eyes go wide open…kinda freaks me out,”  Aponte said with a giggle. “I always wonder why that shocks people, she’s just my sister. Maybe its because they can’t imagine someone else looking just like me, but little do they know Vale and I look and act completely different. We’re two totally different people. We have different friends, interests, and personalities…we’re almost polar opposites.”

When was in middle school, she tried out for the soccer team. Ever since then, she sweats, cries, and bleeds soccer, practicing almost everyday and playing on two teams.

“I love soccer and I can’t imagine not having it in my life…soccer is like my escape it helps me forget. When i’m on the field its like all my problems and worries disappear, I don’t think about school or all the usual high school drama,” she said.
