Mother of the Sea
March 15, 2018
Hannah Shelton, Vanessa Meiendez, and Eveline Ortiz-Rios have been given the chance to win $4,500 in art supplies for South Broward.
They entered the Earth Day Art Contest. The name explains what it is pretty clearly. As part of a class project, art students are encouraged to create an original work of art incorporating themes inspired by nature. The work of art can include a painting or sculpture. It must be submitted by March 1, 2018 to Local 10. They worked on and entered their beautiful piece “Mother of the Sea” together.
The three freshmen will have a lot of competition. Out of all the contestants from Monroe, Dade, and Broward K-12, 10 will be chosen and then voters will decide the winner from there. The voting will be held from 3/26 to 4/21, then the winner will be announced on Earth Day.
If you want to support these artists and help the school win lots of art supplies, you can vote at Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) from April 16-22.
