Pledge to Reduce Plastic Pollution
April 27, 2018
A new pledge has been created by the companies Coca Cola and Asda (a British supermarket retailer) to eliminate single-use packaging through better design as a way to help the world be a better place.
They joined the UK Plastic Pact along with the government, other trade associations, and campaigners. The goal of this pact is to make plastic be ready for composting or recycling and making sure it actually goes through these processes.
The Ellen MacArthur Foundation completely supports the pact and their yachtswoman has mentioned how the pact signifies “A circular economy for plastics that tackles the causes of plastics waste and pollution, not just the symptoms.”
This new pact can lead to the reduction of plastic pollutions as more precautions will be taken and with time they plan on trying to make more companies join and fight against the biggest threat now: plastic waste.
