A Questbridge Scholarship to Stanford has been granted to a senior at South Broward High School with extraordinary academic history. When the student, Angie Ruiz, received these news, it changed her life completely. She claims that when she found out, she was shocked, excited, but also feeling a bit melancholy because of the fact she must leave her family and friends, to go all the way to California. At the same time, it’s a great opportunity for her career and a chance in the real world.

Ruiz applied through a website called Questbridge which is a non-profit program that links high-achieving students with educational and scholarship opportunities at leading U.S. colleges and universities. When she applied, they asked her to rank different colleges from 1-12 but Ruiz only ranked two of them, Stanford being first along with another college.

After some time of having done the application, Ruiz received the amazing news on December 4th, that she was being accepted into Stanford with a full scholarship for environmental engineering.”I’m so excited to have this opportunity and I will make the best out of it ,” said Angie.
